Gayatri has become a guarantor of traditional Bali cuisine through her professional work in the sector.
Gayatri is passionate about food, and travels all over Indonesia to scour its many traditional markets for all the local ingredients, which she then applies to her cooking. Gayatri also comes up with fresh ideas for traditional cuisine in her country.
Pengalaman Rasa is the traditional restaurant she opened in 2015 along with her husband in a bid to preserve and reconstruct the traditional knowledge of Indonesian cuisine. The ingredients used at Pengalaman Rasa come from local farmers and artisans.
As co-founder and head chef of Pengalaman Rasa, Gayatri loves to share her culinary knowledge with the world, knowledge she has acquired from many generations of her family, and also her love of Bali cuisine from the region of Buleleng, in northern Bali (Indonesia).
